Summer Newsletter 2017
Greetings Bobcat families and friends,
Hello! I hope your summer has been safe and magical! I look forward to hearing all the student’s summer memory stories! I had a busy summer which included my wedding to my husband, Jay Harris. As a result of my nuptials, I have changed my name to Dr. Jennifer Harris.
Mrs. Crosby and I are back in the building! The office hours are 9:00-3:00. Let us know if we can assist you with anything. And please stop by and say hello! You can see our freshly painted office!
Looking for something different to do or try this summer, here is a great website to visit!
Also, to keep kiddos learning, the Summer Bridge series is a great resource. And of course reading daily and responding to text with writing activities is a great way to help decrease reading loss over the summer. Again, here is a website with some awesome ideas!
Time for online registration! Please go to parentportal.grandviewc4.net. . You can also get your fast pass by emailing a copy of your most recent mortgage or lease AND two current utility bills to email@example.com. This documentation MUST be in the name of the parent/legal guardian of the student(s) being enrolled and must be dated within the last 30 days. No disconnect, shut-off, or late notices will be accepted. Once this documentation is verified and accepted, you will receive your BULLDOG FAST PASS via email. Take this email with you to Centralized Enrollment to indicate that you are clear to bypass the residency lines. If the documentation received does not meet the guidelines to verify residency, you will be notified via email.
Centralized enrollment will be Aug. 2nd, 3rd, 7th, and 8th at Grandview High School from 12:00-6:00. Please remember all students must be enrolled during central enrollment. You will be able to enroll all of your children in one location. Please have residency verification or your fast pass with you. Please call the office if you have any questions or concerns. THANKS!
Belvidere’s Sneak-a-Peek is August 15th from 5:00-6:30 and the first day will be August 17th for all students. We are excited to have a Kindergarten transition day this year. Aug. 16th from 9:05-11:00. There will not be any transportation provided or meals that day. Kindergarteners should be dropped off at 9:00 a.m. and picked up promptly at 11:00. Thank you for your cooperation. School supplies should be brought in on the transition day.
Mark your calendars! On Aug.24th we will hold our Open House/Curriculum and Title Night from 6:00-7:30.
This year I am to creating a new committee. I will be developing a Parent Advisory Committee. The Parent Advisory Committee or (PAC) will meet monthly and will share updates, events, curriculum, expectations, and help problem solve concerns of our school community. Attached to this letter is some additional information and a portion to return to me if you are interested. I am really hoping for 10 parents that can serve. Thank you for the consideration!
For students, I am developing a new club- Student Ambassadors. This would be a club that meets monthly to welcome new families, engage in service-related learning, and act as peer models. More information will come home soon.
I wish you all continued summer enjoyment and look forward to seeing all returning Bobcats and meeting new families to welcome in to the Bobcat family!
With Bobcat Pride,
Dr. Jennifer Harris
