Every Teacher, Every Student, Every Family, Every Day
Greetings Bobcat Families:
Tis’ the season for fun, family, and giving! We collected many cans together for Harvester’s, thank you! We made special cards for Veterans and our amazing 5th graders sang some awesome songs about how to make a difference. Please join in on our family fun at Pancake’s with Santa. ALL proceeds go to helping needy families in our area.
Our school’s APR has not yet been released. Somethings we do know are our MAP scores increased in all areas and our overall attendance declined. Critical to a student’s ongoing success is good attendance. We are seeing a lot of tardiness, which negatively impacts a student’s attendance. Please get students to school on time and pick them up after the bell. Thank you for helping your student and our school succeed.
During this special season, we reflect on what is important and the people we appreciate and love. We are blessed with all of our families and students. And let us remember to thank our amazing teachers and staff and our LINC friends for everything they do each day. It will mean a lot!
Academic information- Math update- we are really focusing on math fact fluency as a building. Students are more successful as they move into more difficult math when they know their facts with ease. Any extra practice at home would be most beneficial to your students. Reading- all students have a Lexia Core Reading web-based account. If they log on at home, please DO NOT assist them in answering questions. Lexia builds on their knowledge and skill mastery. Thank you!
Student Celebrations-A huge shout-out-with-Bobcat-pride to Kyndal Armstrong for winning the Spelling Bee. She will move on to the Jackson County meet in February.
Lastly, our 4th & 5th grade Focus students- Annalise Long, Rhiamya Jones, Mya Wilson, and Zackery Davis helped their team to win 1st place in the Battle of the Brains Competition with their project Big Brain Theory. Their program received a $50,000 prize and they will construct their project with the engineering professional firm, Burns & McDonnell at Union Station. In the future, we will be able to take a field trip to see their project come to life. This is an amazing accomplishment for these students. We are so proud!
I want to wish you and your family, a very special and safe holiday season!
