Greetings Bobcat Families:

Hello and happy fall! As a staff we are working to improve in involving students more in their learning and achievement, building trusting relationships with students to ensure they are safe and feel a sense of belonging, and we are committed to creating innovative and rigorous learning events to challenge and prepare students for their future.

We are also striving to be more culturally competent and learn how we can be most equitable.  We will look at building Identity Safety:

  • Child-centered teaching
  • Cultivating Diversity as a resource providing challenging curriculum and high expectations for all students in the context of the regular and authentic use of diverse materials, ideas, and teaching activities.
  • Build classroom relationships based on trusting, positive interactions with the teacher and among the students.
  • Caring classrooms environments where social skills are taught and practiced to help students care for one another in an emotional and physically safe classroom.

We are beginning to notice a decline in attendance.  So we are going to begin a few attendance incentive programs to help encourage good attendance.  We do understand when students are too ill to come to school and we thank you for keeping your children home when they are ill.

  • Students obtaining 90% or better on attendance will be invited to a quarterly dance party.
  • Students with chronic tardiness will work with our office staff to earn rewards when they are here each day.
  • Classrooms will earn rewards after 5 days of perfect attendance.

Harvester’s is preparing Backpack Snacks for our students again this year.  Our LINC staff will be coordinating those efforts.  If you would like more information on how to sign up or what the program provides, please call Harvester’s @ 810-7664.

Arrival and Dismissal-PLEASE do not park your car on the curb to walk your students in, use a parking spot.  Also, regardless of where you drop your students off, they must use the crosswalk.  We are not trying to create any difficulties for anyone, just ensure all students are safe!  Please do not use the bus lane for drop off or pick up at any time.
