Every Teacher, Every Student, Every Family, Every Day

Greetings Bobcat Families:

Hello! And happy spring!  We have wrapped up 3rd quarter! We will be starting our spring testing in just a couple of weeks.  Please see enclosed letter for information. As a parent, you can encourage your child to do their best, ensure they get a good night’s sleep, and make sure they are at school on time. Testing will begin April 16th and conclude around May 11th.  We appreciate your partnership!

We are excited to bring Project Lead the Way curriculum to K-2nd grade this quarter.  The STEM curriculum is full of hands on-project based learning experiences for students to explore.  We are planning to have PLTW curriculum for all K-5th grade next school year.

Our attendance did improve slightly over 3rd quarter, thank you for your efforts to get your students to school and on time.  We did raffle off our first Kindle Fire HD and the lucky winner with perfect attendance was A’Rius Allen!

Other perfect attendance kiddos for 3rd quarter we want to recognize are:

A’Rius Allen, Lina Bensahri, Erika Gray, Troy Jamison, Samiyah Jenkins, Shanda Jenkins, Marquis Long, Devin McDaniel, Bailey McEnroe, Aliyana Pembrick, Kennedi Ross, Lily-Ann Schussler, Chariyah Sexton, Lamontia Smith, Guadalupe Toledo-Martinez, Stephanie Toledo-Martinez.

As always, if I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

With Bobcat Pride,

Dr. Jennifer Harris, Principal

Funniest moment while teaching --- During my student teaching, we were hatching eggs.  The word, extinct, came up while talking about dinosaur eggs. I asked the kindergarteners what that word meant.  One boy raised his hand and said, "it means they smelled funny." I thought that was cute and I explained it means that they died a long time ago and we can't find anymore of them on Earth. I couldn't contain my laughter when one outspoken girl yells out, "My grandma is extinct."
